Crickley Hill

Crickley Hill is a popular local attraction in Gloucestershire, drawing more than 100,000 people a year to the beautiful landscape and views over the Cotswolds.

The nature reserve is jointly owned by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and National Trust and has been managed in partnership since acquiring it from the County Council in 2016. The majority of the site is SSSI and scheduled ancient monument and the Wildlife Trust manages a cafe, car park and toilets to enhance the visitor experience while also generating income to support the site's management.

Development of the A417 link road offers the ability to raise Crickley Hill's profile, broaden the range of activities and provide opportunities to reposition the offer. However, future plans need to reduce pressure on the land, while deepening engagement opportunities.

We are working with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust to explore the market potential for growth at Crickley Hill, producing a feasibility study to inform plans for future development at the site

The work will be completed by December 2024.
