The Winter Gardens, Great Yarmouth
The Winter Gardens in Great Yarmouth is a building like no other - a people's palace of glass and steel situated on the seafront. It is the UK's only surviving Victorian seaside winter garden and is in desperate need of repair.
The National Trust is supporting the Great Yarmouth Borough Council to save, restore and reimagine the Grade II* Listed building through work funded through the NHLF and Towns Deal, among others.
I am working for the Trust as a critical friend to the council team and its partners, advising on the long-term operational management of the Winter Gardens and on the visitor experience it wants to create for the local community and the tourists who visit.

This includes driving a business plan that supports the operation of the building to ensure it's long-term success as an attraction.
The building will be at the heart of plans to develop Great Yarmouth as a year-round tourist destination, while the project will safeguard its own future as an historic attraction.
