Halesworth & District Museum

East Suffolk Council's cultural services team wanted to explore how it could support the district's visitor attractions to ​increase visitor numbers and income in line with their individual strategies.

I worked with them to design a pilot project that could be tested at the volunteer-run Halesworth & District Museum, starting with establishing a baseline of visitor data identifying how and when people visitied, what they liked and how the experience could be enhanced. I undertook an assessment of the current experience, providing a range of recommendations that could be adopted by the team now and in the future. This included collection display, use of space, experience development and marketing.

The space the team is working with is small and resources are limited so any actions need to be realistic and achievable, but the work enabled East Suffolk Council to identify how it could most effectively support the team to deliver what is needed.

This project was completed in April 2025.
