Arnos Vale Cemetery
Arnos Vale is a beautiful 45-acre Victorian cemetery in central Bristol. As well as being a working cemetery, the site is a haven for wildlife and offers a place of tranquility in a busy and bustling city.

Managed by the Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust charity, the site was saved by the community it serves and is now place of life as well of death, welcoming multiple users ranging from dog walkers and cyclists to historians and the volunteers who care for it.

The Trust wanted to gain greater insight into the audiences using the site to help provide long-term resilience by ensuring it is catering for their multiple needs. They also wanted to build a programme that supported the team to continue researching and understanding the cemetery users into the future.

I improved their knowledge of key audiences through analysis of data they already had as well as leading a project to collect more to help build a picture of site users. I understood an audience segmentation process with them that helped inform a development plan to support future activity and planning.

While there I also completed a review to identify short-term improvements they could make to the site to enhance the current visitor experience.
